“Teach the Controversy”

The inclusion of “intelligent design” in science classrooms should be the most straightforward controversy ever.  You could solve it without even getting into which one is true.

Supporters of intelligent design — do you really want science teachers, who are likely to be completely unqualified in teaching religion, to teach your dogma*?  Isn’t it a much better idea to teach that yourselves, so your future believers won’t have a muddled picture?

*so no-one thinks that I’m being condescending:

dogma |ˈdôgmə|
noun
a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true : the Christian dogma of the Trinity | the rejection of political dogma.
  1. Teach both Intelligent Design AND evolution and let people use their brains and think for themselves. Just my 0.02.
